Star Wars Episode One Racer (pc cd rom)

The game has quality presentation, graphics and an air of class throughout. The early races are easy, and you'd have to be very poor, or young, to fail to win them, let alone finish in the qualifying top 4 positions. It's fast, although whether it quite conveys 400-600mph is a little debatable. There's lots of pod racers to chose from, although you tend to only use Anakin's or Sebulba's.

The graphics are cool, although not quite the eye-candy feast a 3d-card-only game should be. the controls are repsonsive, however the keyboard's probably too fiddley for younger gamers. The inbetween scenes are excellent, and the sound effects are generally spot-on, although the looped engine sounds cut-out between "loops", and could be a little meatier.

This is an enjoyable game for fans of the movie, especially for those who, like me, only really enjoyed the pod racing scenes. It's exciting, true to the film, and beats the n64 version hands down! Buy it, buy it now!!

Micro Machines Pod Racers

I bought the pod racing game after seeing them in the Star Wars movie, I liked them because they went really fast! I liked it when Anakin's pod didn't start at first, and then he zoomed off and caught them all up!!

The pod racing game works by pushing a toy pod into one of the two starters, then you press a little button, which makes them zoom out!

With the launcher set you get two pods (those shown on the front of the box) but you can buy other sets, I had to search for a long time to get Anakin's pod! You can get 4 extra sets with 2 pods in each, which means you can get 10 pods in all. My favourite pod is Anakin's!

I think it is really good because it is really fast, and I like racing the pods against each other, just like in the film! I don' t like it because some times the starters don't work. But I think it is a fantastic game!!
